tvN’s “My Roommate Is a Gumiho” has ended on a high note!

On July 15, the fantasy romance drama starring Jang Ki Yong and Girl’s Day’s Hyeri saw its viewership ratings rise for its final episode. According to Nielsen Korea, the series finale of “My Roommate Is a Gumiho” earned an average nationwide rating of 4.0 percent—the highest nationwide average achieved by the drama during the second half of its run.

“My Roommate Is a Gumiho” also took first place in its time slot across all cable channels among the key demographic of viewers ages 20 to 49, with whom it scored an average nationwide rating of 2.8 percent and a peak of 3.1 percent.

Meanwhile, tvN’s “Hospital Playlist 2” successfully continued its upward trend, achieving its highest viewership ratings to date with its latest broadcast. The fifth episode of the hit drama scored an average nationwide rating of 12.4 percent, marking a new all-time high for the second season.

Additionally, “Hospital Playlist 2” remained first place in its time slot not only among all viewers, but also among the key demographic of viewers ages 20 to 49—with whom it scored a nationwide average of 8.2 percent and a peak of 9.5 percent.

As in the past few weeks, viewership ratings for both JTBC’s “Monthly Magazine Home” and MBC’s “On the Verge of Insanity” were affected by the popularity of “Hospital Playlist 2.” Because the two dramas air in the same time slot as “Hospital Playlist 2” on Thursdays, both shows suffered modest decreases in viewership compared to Wednesday. “Monthly Magazine Home” fell to an average nationwide rating of 2.0 percent, while “On the Verge of Insanity” earned an average rating of 2.7 percent for the night.
