Lee Ji Hoon, Han Chae Young, Goo Ja Sung, And Ji Yi Soo Confirmed To Star In New Drama
Back in May, at a press conference for the establishment of the new channel IHQ, Lee Ji Hoon announced that he would be appearing in the upcoming IHQ drama “Desire” (literal translation). “Desire” is a romance thriller about the scandalous love affairs between two men and two women and is described as being similar to “The Penthouse” series.
Lee Ji Hoon, who will play the male lead, said, “I chose the project because it was a character that I’d never done before. That’s my standard for choosing new projects.” This will be Lee Ji Hoon’s first project since the historical drama “River Where the Moon Rises” earlier this year.
In June, actress Han Chae Young was confirmed to play the female lead. Her character, Han Chae Rin, is the CEO of a beauty products company. She has both beauty and power and will stick at nothing to get whatever man she happens to like. This will be Han Chae Young’s first drama in two years after “A Pledge to God.”
Also in June, actress Ji Yi Soo was confirmed to play one of the four lead characters. Her character, Park Da Som, is newly married, but lives in poverty. When her son is diagnosed with an incurable disease, she becomes obsessed with saving her child at all costs.
On July 16, Goo Ja Sung was confirmed as the last of the four lead characters. He will be playing Hyun Seung Hoon, who dedicated his life to soccer but had to quit due to an injury and now devotes himself to working all day and night in order to ensure his family’s survival.
“Desire” will be directed by Kwak Ki Won (“It’s My Life,” “Two Mothers”) and written by Park Gye Hyung (“It’s My Life”). It is being jointly produced by Victory Contents (“Something Happened in Bali,” “River Where the Moon Rises”) and IHQ. The drama is scheduled to air sometime in the second half of 2021.
