Several variety stars will be going into self-quarantine following more confirmed cases of COVID-19.

On July 16, model and TV personality Han Hye Jin confirmed that she had tested positive for COVID-19. She went to get tested after former volleyball player Kim Yo Han tested positive on July 15. This was because Kim Yo Han and Han Hye Jin worked together on the iHQ variety show “Leader’s Romance.”

Kim Yo Han is also a cast member on the JTBC sports variety show “Let’s Play Soccer Together 2” (also called “We Kick Together 2”), along with former soccer player Ahn Jung Hwan, former swimmer Park Tae Hwan, former judo athlete Yoon Dong Shik, former mixed martial artist Kim Dong Hyun, former speed skater Mo Tae Bum, and former tennis player Lee Hyung Taek. The entire cast and crew of “Let’s Play Soccer Together 2” went to get tested after Kim Yo Han’s diagnosis, and Yoon Dong Shik, Mo Tae Bum, Lee Hyung Taek, and Park Tae Hwan tested positive.

Lee Hyung Taek was scheduled to be a sports commentator for tennis on KBS at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, but will now be replaced with someone else. Ahn Jung Hwan tested negative, but will not attend an upcoming filming of KBS’s “LAN Marketplace” due to self-quarantine. Kim Dong Hyun also tested negative.

Park Tae Hwan and Mo Tae Bum recently filmed guest appearances on the TV Chosun variety show “PPONG School.” After learning of their diagnosis, the cast and crew of “PPONG School,” which includes trot singers Lim Young Woong, Young Tak, Lee Chan Won, Jang Min Ho, Kim Hee Jae, and Hwang Yoon Sung, along with the show’s host, Boom, were tested for COVID-19. Trot singer Jeong Dong Won, who is also on “PPONG School” but did not film at the same time as the guests, got tested just in case and received a negative result.

It was first reported that all the “PPONG School” cast members had tested negative, but Jang Min Ho went to get tested a second time after being initially tested at the hospital. The result of the second test was positive, meaning that his “PPONG School” co-stars, except for Jeong Dong Won, will go into self-quarantine.

On July 17, Jang Min Ho’s agency, New Era Project, stated, “Jang Min Ho has tested positive for COVID-19, but his health remains stable. He has canceled all of his official scheduled activities and will follow the orders of the disease control authorities. All the employees and staff who crossed paths or came into contact with him will be tested and we will take further measures as required.”
