GOT7's Jinyoung Confirmed To Join Kim Go Eun, Ahn Bo Hyun, And More In New Drama

GOT7’s Jinyoung will be joining the cast of “Yumi’s Cells”!

On July 22, it was confirmed that Jinyoung will take on the role of Yoo Babi in the upcoming drama.

“Yumi’s Cells” is a drama based on a hit webtoon about an ordinary office worker named Yumi, told from the perspective of the brain cells in her head controlling her thoughts, feelings, and actions. Previously confirmed roles include Kim Go Eun as Yumi, Ahn Bo Hyun as Goo Woong, Lee Yoo Bi as Ruby, and Park Ji Hyun as Sae Yi. SHINee’s Minho will be making a special appearance as Woo Gi.

Jinyoung’s character Yoo Babi is Yumi’s popular co-worker who is sweet, handsome, and intelligent. He appears to be a nearly perfect character and will get entangled in a relationship with Yumi.

Jinyoung commented about his new drama, “My first time filming was a touching experience thanks to everyone who treated me comfortably on set. I conversed a lot with the director about my character Babi. Studying my character diligently allowed me to naturally become a part of that space.”

“Yumi’s Cells” is directed by Lee Sang Yeob, the director of “Familiar Wife” and “Shopping King Louie,” and co-written by “Find Me in Your Memory” writer Kim Yoon Joo and newcomer Kim Kyung Ran. “W” and “Memories of the Alhambra” writer Song Jae Jung has participated as a creator.

The drama will premiere sometime this year via tvN and is set to air across multiple seasons.
