On the August 7 episode of KBS’s “Immortal Songs,” various singers covered the past hits of legendary artist Gummy. Performers for the first part of the Gummy special included Ben, Soran, BTOB’s Eunkwang, Kim Yong Jin, HYNN, and Park Jin Joo.

This was BTOB’s Eunkwang’s first appearance on “Immortal Songs” in four years, having last appeared in 2017. He said, “It’s been so long that I couldn’t sleep last night.”

The MCs brought up the fact that Eunkwang had come up with a nickname for himself. He struck a pose and replied, “When I was doing the pre-taped interview, the atmosphere was a bit down, so I said that I should be called ‘extremely sexy guy, Seo Eunkwang.'” MC Kim Joon Hyun quipped, “Compared to before, you’ve become more excessive since you were discharged from the military.”

Eunkwang shared that he had been excited to join Gummy’s special in particular. “I’m not lying when I say that Gummy’s songs were the songs I listened to the most in middle school,” he said. “She’s my muse.” He added, “I did an idol competition program [Mnet’s “Kingdom: Legendary War“] earlier this year. Going last is too much pressure. No. 4 is about the best time. I didn’t have any goals at first, but now I have a goal. I want to win against Soran.”

Eunkwang performed the song “Snow Flower,” Gummy’s OST from the hit drama “That Winter, the Wind Blows.”

Ben performed first against Kim Yong Jin, who won the round. Next, Park Jin Joo won against Kim Yong Jin with her rendition of “You Are My Everything,” the OST from “Descendants of the Sun,” but lost to HYNN in the next round. Soran performed fifth and won the round with “Childish Adult.” Eunkwang performed last, but Soran took home the final win for Part 1 of the Gummy special.
