Seo Kang Joon, Kang Tae Oh, And Lee Tae Hwan’s Agency Takes Legal Action Against Malicious Rumors
On August 11, the agency released the following statement:
Hello, this is Man of Creation.
Our agency regularly takes action against those who write malicious posts on various social media platforms and online communities about our artists, including the spreading of falsehoods, defamation of character, personal attacks, invasion of privacy, and sexual harassment. We are making a statement regarding our progress in this matter.
Last April, after we collected evidence related to libelous posts against our artists on Twitter and online communities, law firm JEHA filed a complaint on our behalf with the Seoul Central District Prosecutors’ Office. Investigations are currently underway to find the specific individual who wrote the malicious posts.
Through our own monitoring and the evidence that fans send us, our company is currently monitoring and keeping an eye on malicious posts on social media and online communities in a variety of ways. We will take strong legal action so that the individuals behind these malicious acts can be punished severely. Additionally, we are informing you that colorful insults about our company and our artists are legally considered criminal contempt, and creating false and malicious rumors is also a clear illegal act, so they can be grounds for severe punishment.
In the future, our agency will continue to regularly take strong legal action against vicious malicious posts and repeat offenders through criminal complaints or civil claims for damages, in an effort to try and eradicate these kinds of malicious posts.
Additionally, we entreat our artists’ fans to continuously work with us and report [these kinds of posts]. Once again, we offer our deepest thanks to the many people who send our company’s artists their support. Thank you.
