Jinyoung Expresses Gratitude To Krystal And Cha Tae Hyun For Helping Him Readjust To Filming After Military Discharge

In a recent interview and pictorial for @star1 magazine, B1A4’s Jinyoung talked about returning to acting after his military service.

Jinyoung is currently starring in the new KBS drama “Police University,” which marks his first acting role in about two years. While he confessed to having been nervous about his first acting project following his military discharge, Jinyoung shared that his co-stars Cha Tae Hyun and f(x)’s Krystal had helped him get back into the swing of things in no time.

“Because it was my first time returning to a filming set in a long while, it’s true that I was worried,” he said. “But thanks to Cha Tae Hyun and Soo Jung [Krystal’s given name], I was able to quickly get rid of that nervousness and focus on the drama, which made it possible for me to show good results.”

Jinyoung also expressed confidence in “Police University” and its story, teasing that the drama will get even more fun to watch as it progresses.

“Although it seems like a youthful campus drama with the unfamiliar setting of a police university, it also has a certain seriousness that can only be found in a detective thriller,” he explained, “and there’s a subtle charm in how it tells that story in a way that isn’t lighthearted at all.”

Finally, Jinyoung talked about maturing and learning to deal with his anxiety during his hiatus.

“Now that I’m in my thirties, my mindset has changed,” he remarked. “I’ve become calmer, and I think I’ve learned how to manage my inner thoughts and feelings through mind control. I’ve gained the ability to ease my nerves and think things through again with a mature mindset.”
