Kim Yoo Jung, Byun Woo Seok, And More Confirmed To Star In Romance Film "20th Century Girl"

Kim Yoo Jung, Byun Woo Seok, Park Jung Woo, and Noh Yoon Seo are confirmed to star in the Netflix Original film “20th Century Girl” together!

“20th Century Girl” is a romance film about the painful yet heart-fluttering first love of the 17-year-old Na Bo Ra of 1999, to whom friendship came before love, and the reappearance of her first love in the 21st century. This will be director Bang Woo Ri’s first full-length commercial film after being recognized at the Blue Dragon Film Awards for the short film “Mrs. Young.”

Kim Yoo Jung, who is currently starring in “Lovers of the Red Sky” and has previously starred in “The Chaser,” “Threads of Lies,” “The 8th Night,” and “Backstreet Rookie,” will be taking on the titular role of the 20th century girl Na Bo Ra.  She’s familiar with Taekwondo and has a great sense of loyalty for her friends, even helping her friend’s one-sided love for Baek Hyun Jin by diligently keeping an eye on his every move for her. Kim Yoo Jung will vividly paint the diverse emotions Na Bo Ra experiences along with the turmoil the 17-year-old faces between love and friendship.

Byun Woo Seok from “Record of Youth” and “Search: WWW” will make viewers’ hearts flutter as he takes on the role of Poong Woon Ho, who is Na Bo Ra’s classmate at the co-ed high school and a fellow broadcasting club member.

Park Jung Woo, who starred in “Team Bulldog: Off-duty Investigation” and the web drama “Love Playlist,” will be playing Baek Hyun Jin, who is Poong Woon Ho’s close friend and the target of Na Bo Ra’s observation as the one-sided love interest of her best friend Yeon Doo.

Rookie actress Noh Yoon Seo will be playing Yeon Doo, who falls in love with Baek Hyun Jin at first sight. She leaves for the United States for a heart surgery after giving her best friend Na Bo Ra, who swore eternal friendship with her, the task of getting to know everything about Baek Hyun Jin. Having been acknowledged for her modeling work, Noh Yoon Seo auditioned for the character of Yeon Doo and showcased great synchronization with the character. Kim Yoo Jung and Noh Yoon Seo will portray a real friendship between two girls who are very distinct from one another while depicting moments from their first loves.

“20th Century Girl” will be be produced by Yong Film, which also produced “The Call,” “Believer,” “Luck Key,” “The Handmaiden,” and “The Beauty Inside.” Regarding the production, a source from Yong Film stated, “From ‘The Call’ to ’20th Century Girl,’ we’re happy to greet viewers all around the world through Netflix. Since it’s our first time showcasing a romance film in a while, we’ll do our best to showcase a novel one.”

“20th Century Girl” will be released all around the globe via Netflix.
