Following the final episode of JTBC’s “Nevertheless,” actors Yoon Seo Ah and Kim Moo Joon reflected on their performance and growth.

The two made up the second love triangle featured in the drama, the other character involved being Yoon Sol (Lee Ho Jung). Yoon Seo Ah and Kim Moo Joon played Seo Ji Wan and Yoo Se Hoon respectively, both characters that feel for Yoon Sol.

In the interview that took place ten days after the finale, Yoon Seo Ah and Kim Moo Joon both shared that they missed the experience. As it was their first broadcast drama, it was that much more memorable.

This also meant that they found it awkward to watch their performances. Yoon Seo Ah commented, “At first, I felt so awkward and shy that I was shy about watching myself. I had so much fun watching it with my parents. It’s a habit of mine to monitor my performance, so I wrote a journal of my weaknesses and kept a review.”

Yoon Seo Ah and Kim Moo Joon explained that working together was a smoother experience because they knew each other beforehand. Kim Moo Joon said, “We already knew each other since we’re managed by the same company. We knew each other before we started the same project. I have to say, I was most comfortable with her. She was the only person I knew when we went in for the script reading. We also took care of each other on set.”

The efforts of reviewing one’s performance coupled with the synergy of being acquaintances in real life helped bring about a great response from the audience, especially viewers in their teens and twenties. This was most apparent in the increase in followers on social media, on which Yoon Seo Ah stated, “Thankfully, many people came and left encouraging words. With every episode, the number of followers increased drastically. It was so cool and it made me think that I should work harder. My follower count went from 2,000 to 400,000 people. It’s such a big number that I can’t wrap my head around it yet.”

Yoon Seo Ah added that the drama realistically portrays what people in their twenties might go through. She explained, “The viewers were able to relate and be comforted because the drama didn’t embellish anything. I also felt that way. We are at a point where we need to make decisions. The burden that comes from having to make decisions and take responsibility for those decisions was accurately depicted. It also features various forms of love so I think viewers were able to understand every couple and think of them as their own story.”
