Watch: Kim Yoo Jung, Ahn Hyo Seop, And Gong Myung Playfully Tease Each Other On Set Of "Lovers Of The Red Sky"

SBS’s “Lovers of the Red Sky” released new behind-the-scenes footages!

“Lovers of the Red Sky” is a historical fantasy romance drama starring Kim Yoo Jung as the Joseon Dynasty’s only female painter, Hong Chun Gi, who was born blind but miraculously regains vision. Ahn Hyo Seop stars as the blind astrologer Ha Ram, who is able to read the starts despite losing his sight. Gong Myung co-stars as the romantic and free-spirited Prince Yangmyeong, a lover of the arts who falls for Hong Chun Gi.

The making-of video begins with Kim Yoo Jung running after Gong Myung with an ax. She clarifies to Ahn Hyo Seop, “I’m doing this to protect you.” While waiting to film, Kim Yoo Jung rests the ax on her shoulder. When asked if it’s not too heavy, she responds, “This is nothing. I even gave Ha Ram a piggy back ride.”

Kim Yoo Jung also timidly approaches one of the big dogs, and she takes some time trying to bond with them. Kwak Si Yang explains that a part of his fake mustache has lifted up and that he is getting it reattached. He shares, “I’m not a neighborhood fool.” Using sageuk tone, Kwak Si Yang hilariously tells the casts, “Make way,” as he leaves the set in a hurry.

The cast compliments Kim Yoo Jung as she practices writing Chinese characters. Despite her concerns, Kim Yoo Jung finishes the scene in one take. She shares, “I practiced really hard, director. I know how to write four-character idioms.” Kim Yoo Jung elaborates that she practiced so that it would help her with her drawing skills.

In another scene, Gong Myung accidentally hits Kim Yoo Jung. Concerned, he asks, “You got hit, right?” Gong Myung continues to wonder, “Maybe you got hit by this?” while pointing to the fan, and Kim Yoo Jung comes to the same conclusion. Monitoring their performance, it becomes clear that Kim Yoo Jung was hit by the fan. Laughing, Kim Yoo Jung chases after Gong Myung, who runs away quickly. She asks, “Do you have something against me?” Gong Myung explains, “I was so surprised,” and he continues to check if Kim Yoo Jung is okay. Kim Yoo Jung tells him, “Look forward to later,” as she pretends to plan revenge later by making Gong Myung get a bloody nose.

As they continue to film the scene, the cast bursts out into laughter when Ahn Hyo Seop arrives too early. Gong Myung and Kim Yoo Jung also struggle to rip the scroll in half. Since Ahn Hyo Seop has to smile as he catches Kim Yoo Jung falling, Kim Yoo Jung comments, “Don’t show your teeth. Isn’t he enjoying this?”

In order to protect Hong Chun Gi from an awkward situation, Ahn Hyo Seop suggests he flip over the entire table instead of just his drink. Ahn Hyo Seop gets creative and playful as he pretends to spill his drink multiple times in different ways on Gong Myung.
