Watch: SHINee’s Minho And Lee Yoo Bi Share How They Prepared For Their Roles In “Yumi’s Cells”

TVING has shared a behind-the-scenes look at the filming for episodes 1-2 of “Yumi’s Cells”!

Based on a hit webtoon, “Yumi’s Cells” tells the story of an ordinary office worker named Yumi—from the point of view of the many brain cells in her head controlling her every thought, feeling, and action.

SHINee’s Minho appears in the drama as Chae Woo Gi, Yumi’s colleague at work who is popular for his handsome looks, excellent work ethic, and warm-hearted personality. Lee Yoo Bi appears as Ruby, another of Yumi’s colleagues, a flirtatious and whimsical young woman who is nonetheless lovable and affectionate.

The behind-the-scenes video begins with Kim Go Eun filming in the office. She encounters various mishaps like making her co-stars laugh by trying to estimate the distance at which her character can complain about her boss without being overheard and accidentally slamming her forehead into her desk too hard. Later, when she films outside with Minho, he bursts into laughter when he realizes that she literally bit off more than she could chew and couldn’t say her lines because she still had food in her mouth.

In an interview, Minho says, “Woo Gi is an employee of Daehan Noodles, an excellent employee who is a gentleman with good manners. Since it’s based on a webtoon, I did my best to make my hair and clothing resemble Woo Gi as much as possible. I read the webtoon to get a handle on what kind of character he was. It’s been a long time since I worked with such great colleagues. Kim Go Eun in particular is the same age as me, and we worked together before, so I think we get along well.”

In the video, Kim Go Eun continues to encounter funny obstacles like Minho and Jung Soon Won making her laugh when she needs to be serious and having to film a running scene multiple times in the heat.

In another interview, Lee Yoo Bi says, “Ruby is a very lovable character, with some annoying sides to her, but she doesn’t have any malicious intent. Her hairstyle, her clothes, the way she speaks, I did my best to make these as similar to Ruby as possible. She has a kind of catty way of speaking. Please show a lot of love and support for ‘Yumi’s Cells’ and Ruby!”
