4 Moments That Shook The OTP In Episodes 11 & 12 Of

Can you believe the season is already almost ending? With season 1 of the series coming to an end next week, there are a lot of feelings of anxiety and uneasiness when it comes to Woong (Ahn Bo Hyun) and Yumi’s (Kim Go Eun) relationship. Here are four moments from episodes 11 and 12 where their relationship was on the rocks.

Warning: Spoilers ahead!

1. Woong lying to Yumi

Woong’s business is tankin, and as a result, he has to sell his home. He does not tell Yumi because he does not want to worry her, but once she finds out, Yumi feels heartbroken and devastated that he couldn’t confide in her.

Once again, Woong sees the utter look of disappointment in Yumi’s eyes when she finds out that he has been sleeping at his office for the past month. She can’t seem to understand why Woong didn’t tell her and is upset by it. Woong tries to joke around and move on, but Yumi is visibly upset and brings up the fact that Woong always hides secrets from her. Luckily, Woong’s “what’s wrong?” cell steps up and conveys a very apologetic response in hopes of making amends with Yumi. The two are thankfully able to talk it through, and Woong ends up moving in with Yumi temporarily.

2. Woong’s struggle to pay for things

This isn’t a huge deal in the last two episodes in that the OTP never fight about it, but you can see the strain that Woong is feeling financially. In celebration of Yumi getting her new job, she decides to buy a lot of groceries, and when she  has to go to the washroom, she gives him her card to make the purchase. He declines and insists on paying even though he does not have the money.

He has a lot of pride in that he doesn’t want help from Yumi, especially when it comes to money. He is the type of partner who wants to support and be able to buy his girlfriend things that she wants. It’s a sweet gesture, but Woong is definitely feeling the stress and pressures of his business not doing well. He does a good job of not taking it out on Yumi, but as a viewer, we can’t help but wish he could confide in Yumi a little bit more so that their relationship can last forever!

3. Woong not responding to Yumi’s proposal

On Woong’s birthday, Yumi plans a little surprise party for him. She prepares a cake and a present and decides to hide until he comes home from work. Woong comes home, drops off a bag, and decides to head back to the office to work all night. Yumi is caught off guard because he did not stay long enough for her to surprise him. She sees the bag that Woong left and sees that it’s a gift for her. She calls Woong on the phone and he realizes that he completely forgot his birthday. On his own birthday, he remembers to get Yumi a congratulatory gift for starting her new job.

This moment is incredibly touching to Yumi as she realizes how selfless Woong is and how much he really thinks about her. In her moment of weakness, Yumi asks Woong if he wants to marry her.

Sadly, it takes him much too long to respond. In that very moment, he thinks about the entire scenario as it is something he has never thought of. And just as he is about to respond to her proposal with total agreement, his insecurities take over. He starts to think about the repercussions that Yumi could have to endure if his life isn’t in order and they are struggling financially. Seeing how long it’s taking for Woong to respond and feeling very hurt, Yumi tells him to forget that she ever asked and the topic isn’t brought up again. Although the two love each other deeply, Woong has a lot on his mind. He needs to think about getting his business back up before thinking about marriage, but it takes him too long to respond. Yumi begins to have doubts and thinks that maybe Woong doesn’t want to be with her forever after all.

4. Yoo Babi getting closer to Yumi

As Woong is feeling more self-conscious and more down about the path his life has suddenly taken, Babi and Yumi seem to be getting closer. Yumi has no interest in Babi and clearly draws the line with him, but Woong can see that Babi is interested in Yumi. After picking her up from the bus stop, she sees Babi and Yumi get off the bus together, and it is in this moment that Woong compares himself to Babi – he can’t help but feel the lack of self-confidence. Woong decides that the only thing he can do to help this situation is to move out of Yumi’s house so he can focus on his own life.

Yumi is obviously hurt and asks him what the reason is, but he does not give a straight answer. This sends Yumi into a spiral of doubt and second-guessing when it comes to their relationship. There is hope that the two can work it out, but the previews don’t seem to be offering much reassurance.

Babi, literally getting in between Yumi and Woong.
