Miyawaki Sakura Parts Ways With Japanese Management Agency

Miyawaki Sakura’s contract with her Japanese management agency has come to an end.

On November 1, her agency Vernalossom announced the news through their official website. They stated, “We thank everyone who has always supported Miyawaki Sakura. We inform you that the management contract between Miyawaki Sakura and Vernalossom Co., Ltd. has expired. The staff members of the company would like to sincerely thank the fans who are cheering for her. Please continue to give your unchanging attention to Miyawaki Sakura.”

Miyawaki Sakura first debuted in Japan as a member of HKT48 in 2011. After ranking No. 2 on Mnet’s “Produce 48” in 2018, she debuted as a member of project group IZ*ONE and promoted with the group until their disbandment. She graduated from her longtime group HKT48 in June.

In March, it was reported that Miyawaki Sakura would join a new girl group at HYBE following IZ*ONE’s disbandment. In response to the report, Big Hit had commented, “Nothing has been decided [regarding this matter].” Then in August, it was reported that she will be joining Source Music, which is part of HYBE Labels, but a source from HYBE had commented that they cannot confirm the report.
