Court Grants Injunction To Temporarily Prohibit Park Yoochun's Entertainment Activities

The court has placed a restraining order on Park Yoochun that temporarily prevents him from carrying out activities in the entertainment business.

On November 10, the Seoul Central District Court granted an injunction submitted by Yesperar for a suspension of Park Yoochun’s broadcasting and entertainment activities. The court stated, “Until the final judgment is made for the case, Park Yoochun may not produce albums or videos, appear in advertisements or commercials, engage in character business, make broadcast appearances, or carry out entertainment activities for a third party other than Yesperar.”

Yesperar is an agency that was delegated the exclusive management authority of Park Yoochun by Re:Cielo with the celebrity’s permission. Re:Cielo is an agency established by the manager who worked with Park Yoochun for a long time, and Park Yoochun had signed with Re:Cielo in January 2020. Re:Cielo claims that Park Yoochun has violated their exclusive contract for signing with a Japanese agency while their contract remains valid, and Park Yoochun states that he has terminated his exclusive contract with the agency for reasons including alleged civil and criminal cases regarding Re:Cielo’s CEO.

Three months ago, Park Yoochun stated through a Japanese news outlet that Re:Cielo’s CEO had embezzled funds and that he had terminated his exclusive contract with Re:Cielo. Re:Cielo refuted his claims, explaining that Park Yoochun had broken their exclusive management contract by signing with a Japanese agency, and Yesperar filed an injunction for Park Yoochun’s suspension of activities. Park Yoochun then released a statement on his official Japanese fan site and stated, “A few months ago, I learned an unimaginably shocking truth about the CEO of Re:Cielo, and I tried to listen to an explanation on this, but I couldn’t contact him and eventually decided to carry out civil and criminal legal proceedings against the CEO.” In response, Re:Cielo’s CEO said to The Korea Economic Daily, “I can’t accept the claim that he tried to contact me but couldn’t reach me. On the contrary, I was asking one of his acquaintances who is like family to him to arrange a meeting between us.”
