The battle for Friday night drama viewership ratings is heating up!

On November 19, MBC’s “The Red Sleeve” achieved its highest ratings yet for its third episode, despite facing stiff competition from SBS’s “Now We Are Breaking Up” (which airs in the same time slot). According to Nielsen Korea, the new historical romance drama starring 2PM’s Lee Junho and Lee Se Young rose to an average nationwide rating of 7.0 percent for its latest broadcast, marking an all-time high for the series.

Meanwhile, “Now We Are Breaking Up” successfully continued its perfect three-episode streak as the most-watched Friday-Saturday drama of the night. The new romance drama starring Song Hye Kyo and Jang Ki Yong scored an average nationwide rating of 7.3 percent, maintaining its position at first place in its time slot across all channels.

Over on cable, tvN’s “Happiness” rose to an average nationwide rating of 3.5 percent for its fifth episode. The apocalyptic thriller starring Park Hyung Sik and Han Hyo Joo also achieved its highest ratings to date in the Seoul metropolitan area, where it earned an average rating of 4.2 percent for the night. Additionally, “Happiness” continued to take first place in its time slot across all cable channels among the key demographic of viewers ages 20 to 49, with whom it scored a nationwide average of 2.3 percent.
