"Running Man" Cast Reminisce About When Jun So Min And Yang Se Chan First Joined The Show
On the December 5 episode of SBS’s “Running Man,” Yang Se Chan was the center of the race as it was his birthday (December 8) and also the fifth anniversary of his joining the show.
The point of the race was to become chosen by Yang Se Chan as the “parents” who had raised him as a variety star. Kim Jong Kook and HaHa were one team, Ji Suk Jin and Song Ji Hyo another, and Yoo Jae Suk and Jun So Min the third. Yoo Jae Suk said that he had raised Yang Se Chan like a baby, and Jun So Min said that she was Yang Se Chan’s “variety wife,” referring to their on-again, off-again “love line” on the show. Later, Jun So Min made him fried rice with egg and sang “Happy Birthday,” causing Ji Suk Jin to remark, “Are you two filming ‘We Got Married’?”
Jun So Min and Yang Se Chan joined “Running Man” in 2017. During the episode, the cast reminisced about what it was like when they had first joined the show. The production staff gathered the members apart from Yang Se Chan in a room and asked them the question, “Do you think Yang Se Chan has matured as a variety star since his first appearance on ‘Running Man’?”
HaHa said, “When Jun So Min won the rookie award [at the SBS Entertainment Awards] in 2017, Yang Se Chan got drunk that night.” Kim Jong Kook added, “Jun So Min was active right away, but Yang Se Chan just stood there like an idiot for a while. But now I think Yang Se Chan is worth getting his own episode.”
Yoo Jae Suk said, “Jun So Min adjusted right away, but Yang Se Chan was a slow starter.” Jun So Min said, “Unlike what people think, Yang Se Chan is actually quite shy.” Yoo Jae Suk joked, “I’m like that too, which is why it took me 10 years to become successful.” Ji Suk Jin also said that it had taken Yang Se Chan some time to adjust to the show.
