Watch: “Running Man” Parodies “Yumi’s Cells” In Hilarious Preview For Next Week’s Episode

SBS’s “Running Man” will be putting its own spin on tvN’s hit drama “Yumi’s Cells”!

Based on the popular webtoon of the same name, “Yumi’s Cells” is a romance drama about an ordinary office worker named Yumi (played by Kim Go Eun)—from the point of view of the many brain cells in her head controlling her every thought, feeling, and action.

On December 5, “Running Man” aired a fun sneak peek of next week’s episode, which will feature the cast members transforming into “Ji Suk Jin’s cells” in an amusing parody of the drama.

The preview begins with Yoo Jae Suk joking that controlling Ji Suk Jin as one of his “brain cells” is nothing new for him, saying with a laugh, “I’ve spent my entire life controlling Suk Jin.” Meanwhile, Jun So Min excitedly asks, “Which cell am I?” Song Ji Hyo tells Ji Suk Jin, “You’re the main character today,” and Kim Jong Kook counters, “He’s a marionette.”

When the “Running Man” members are tasked with picking out Ji Suk Jin’s outfit for him, they get excited about the possibility of teasing him by dressing him in crazy looks. Kim Jong Kook declares, “I’m not going to let him wear pants,” while Jun So Min suggests having Ji Suk Jin go shirtless, flaunting “bare skin with just a jacket and necklace.” Although Ji Suk Jin is reluctant to wear the outfit that Yoo Jae Suk chooses for him, he eventually gets talked into it by his persistent “cells.”

Next, “Ji Suk Jin’s cells” control him throughout a photo shoot and interview, placing the skeptical Ji Suk Jin in questionable poses and suggesting bizarre answers to his interview questions. When Ji Suk Jin is asked what he wants to do after he turns 60, Yoo Jae Suk jokingly calls out, “Graduating from marriage!” and “Going to a nude beach!”

Later, the cast members go shopping together for a gift for Ji Suk Jin’s wife, and Ji Suk Jin worries that the sportswear Yoo Jae Suk is looking at is too expensive. Yang Se Chan responds by laughing, “Please spend some money on your wife!”

Finally, when Ji Suk Jin is asked about the secret to his resurgence in popularity, the “Running Man” members all pester him by teasingly exclaiming, “Yoo Jae Suk! It’s Yoo Jae Suk!”

The “Suk Jin’s Cells” episode of “Running Man” will air on December 12 at 5 p.m. KST. In the meantime, check out the new preview below!
