Watch: Hyeri, Yoo Seung Ho, Byun Woo Seok, And Kang Mina Become Unlikely Partners In "Moonshine" Teaser

KBS 2TV’s upcoming historical drama “Moonshine” released an action-packed new teaser!

Set during the period of the Joseon era when prohibition laws were at their strongest, “Moonshine” revolves around the romance between Kang Ro Seo (Hyeri), a struggling aristocrat who starts illegally making alcohol in order to support her family, and Nam Young (Yoo Seung Ho), Joseon’s greatest inspector who is known for living a very principled life.

The newly released teaser introduces the four unique main characters of the show. Despite being poor, Kang Ro Seo doesn’t care about what the people around her think, even when someone watches her struggling while commenting, “An aristocrat without money is just poop, and she’s exactly that.”

The teaser also briefly previews why Kang Ro Seo decides to become an illegal alcohol brewer during a period of prohibition. As someone begs to her on his knees, she proclaims in shock, “You have a debt of 100 nyang (Korean currency used at the time)?” Nevertheless, Kang Ro Seo gives off the energy that nothing in the world will stop her from overcoming hurdles in life.

On the other hand, the principled inspector Nam Young is shown chasing after illegal alcohol brewers as he narrates, “I can’t believe they recklessly sell alcohol even though prohibition is extremely strict. They’re people who deserve to die.” However, he is unaware of how his fate will be intertwined with Kang Ro Seo, further raising anticipation for their upcoming rom-com chemistry as they face off against each other.

Alcoholic crown prince Lee Pyo (Byun Woo Seok) closely approaches Kang Ro Seo as he sweetly confesses, “I like your alcohol. It tastes affectionate.” Han Ae Jin (Kang Mina), the unpredictable yet cherished only daughter of a noble family, jealously remarks, “What relationship do those two have? There’s no such thing as friends between a man and a woman.”

As the teaser shares a sneak peek at the hidden intentions behind the authorities making the decision, Lee Pyo narrates, “The alcohol ban is only justification. Power comes from prohibition.” However, there are still signs of rebellion as Kang Ro Seo proclaims, “If you starve for three days, there’s nothing you can’t do for a bowl of rice!” The text, “We’ve come together with friends who cross boundaries to really make a scene!” appears on screen.
