2021 MAMA Postpones Pre-Recording After Staff Member Tests Positive For COVID-19

The 2021 Mnet Asian Music Awards (MAMA) has postponed its pre-recording after a staff member was diagnosed with COVID-19.

On December 7, the 2021 MAMA officially announced, “A staff member of one of the [artists] who appeared on the live finale of ‘Show Me the Money 10’ has tested positive for COVID-19. Although the artist in question tested negative for COVID-19, for the safety of everyone involved, we have decided to postpone the pre-recording for the 2021 MAMA that was scheduled for today.”

They went on to add, “The pre-recording of the special ‘Show Me the Money’ 10th-anniversary performance will be carried out without an audience. We apologize for any inconvenience we may have caused. Thank you.”

The upcoming 2021 MAMA, which will be hosted by Lee Hyori, will air live on December 11 starting at 6 p.m. KST. Check out this year’s nominees here and the full list of performing artists here!
