Watch: Yoo Seung Ho And Hyeri Get Tangled Up In A Messy Love Story In "Moonshine" Highlight Reel

KBS has revealed an exciting highlight reel for the upcoming drama “Moonshine”!

“Moonshine” is a drama set in the Joseon era, during the time when prohibition laws were at their strongest. The series will tell the love story of Kang Ro Seo, a struggling aristocrat who starts illegally making alcohol in order to support her family (played by Hyeri), and Joseon’s greatest inspector Nam Young, who is known for living a very principled life (played by Yoo Seung Ho).

The highlight video begins by shedding light on the prohibition era. Nam Young hears rumors about a secret merchant selling moonshine (illegal alcohol) on the streets. The strict inspector vows to catch whoever the person is, but once he actually gets a hold of her, he can’t help but feel like they’ve met before.

The secret merchant is none other than Kang Ro Seo, a struggling aristocrat who will do anything to make ends meet. When her brother Kang Hae Soo (Bae Yoo Ram) gets the family into debt and is threatened to get his fingers cut off if he doesn’t pay back the money, she has no choice but to dive into the moonshine business. Kang Ro Seo teams up with Geum Yi, her one and only friend who was born as a slave, and they set out on a dangerous adventure to make money.

However, lo and behold, Kang Ro Seo and Nam Young end up living at the same house. The caption describes, “A thrilling cohabitation begins,” hinting that there will be fun twists that push the two towards romance. At first, Kang Ro Seo vows to chase him away, but Geum Yi accuses her of not sticking to her promise, she makes up an excuse, saying, “They say you need to keep your friends close and your enemies closer.”

To further complicate their romance, crown prince Lee Pyo (Byun Woo Seok) and noblewoman Han Ae Jin (Kang Mina) comes into play. Kang Ro Seo, who doesn’t know Lee Pyo’s true identity, describes him as her friend, causing Lee Pyo to smirk with amusement. Han Ae Jin is outraged as she demands, “How can a man and a woman be friends?” Viewers can look forward to a delightful story of friendship and love as these four characters get more and more tangled with each other.
