Apink's Jung Eun Ji Shares How She Convinced Her Parents To Let Her Pursue Her Dream Of Being A Singer

On the January 30 episode of SBS’s “My Little Old Boy,” Apink’s Jung Eun Ji appeared as a special MC.

Jung Eun Ji surprised the panelists by revealing that she was approaching her 11th debut anniversary. Asked when she had realized she had a talent for singing, she said, “I used to go to karaoke with my parents on the weekend. My mom and dad were both greedy for the mic, so they would rent out separate rooms. That’s how much they loved singing, and I think I inherited that. I really liked singing in front of my friends.”

However, Jung Eun Ji said that her parents had opposed her dream of becoming a singer. “My mom was really against it,” she said. “To convince her, I filled an A4 sheet of paper with all the plans I had made for my life like I was preparing a presentation.” She added, “Fortunately, she’s glad about my decision now. She’s even said that it would have been a disaster if I hadn’t done it.”

Jung Eun Ji also brought up her character in the popular drama “Work Later, Drink Now.” She said, “I’m similar to my character, Kang Ji Goo, in that I think that friendship and friends are very important. But I think she has a higher alcohol tolerance than me. She’s the kind that once she opens a bottle, she’ll drink until she can’t count the number of bottles on her fingers. I drink about three or four bottles.”

She added, “I’m filming a show with Kim Heechul about drinking and his alcohol tolerance isn’t as high as I thought.”

Jung Eun Ji shared that her ideal type was a mild and gentle person, and asked which of the celebrities on the show she thought best fit that description, she chose Kim Jong Kook.
