THE BOYZ And Apink’s Agency IST Entertainment To Debut New Boy Group Through Survival Show

IST Entertainment will be debuting a brand-new boy group through a survival program scheduled to kick off this month!

Last fall, THE BOYZ’s agency Cre.Ker Entertainment merged with fellow Kakao Entertainment subsidiary Play M, whose roster of artists included Apink, VICTON, Weeekly, and Huh Gak. The newly merged label was then renamed IST Entertainment.

On February 8, IST Entertainment officially announced that it was preparing to launch its first new group since the merger.

“IST Entertainment will be officially debuting a new rookie boy group in the first half of this year, and they will be kicking off large-scale debut promotions,” stated the agency. “This February, we will be premiering a survival program that follows the journey through which the group members are officially chosen.”

The survival show, which will premiere in February on MBN, Kakao TV, and 1theK, will be jointly produced by Kakao Entertainment and Sony Music Solutions. The program will feature trainees being evaluated on their skills by senior K-pop artists, expert judges, and live audience members, and it will give viewers a chance to see the contestants’ growth potential as they compete to debut.

According to IST Entertainment, the members of the upcoming boy group were selected through multiple global auditions.
