(G)I-DLE's Miyeon Talks About Her "Moonshine" OST + Promises (G)I-DLE Will Show "New And Cool" Things This Year

(G)I-DLE’s Miyeon has shared her thoughts on her contribution to the OST of the KBS drama “Moonshine”!

On February 8, the historical romance drama starring Girl’s Day’s Hyeri and Yoo Seung Ho released the latest addition to its soundtrack: Miyeon’s new song “Someday.” The emotional ballad, which captures the heartache of longing for a lover who is far away, marks Miyeon’s first time lending her voice to the OST of a historical drama.

“Ever since I was young, I’d had the vague thought that I really wanted to sing a song for a historical drama OST someday,” said Miyeon. “Thankfully, a great opportunity came my way, and I was overjoyed and excited to be able to sing for the ‘Moonshine’ OST. Even when I was recording the song, I was really happy, and I was grateful for the meticulous [vocal] directing.”

Miyeon also revealed that she loved the song so much that she actually listened to the demo in her free time before recording it. “As soon as I heard the song, I thought it was really great,” she recalled. “Up until I recorded it, I went around listening to the demo version.”

Describing what drew her in about the song, she continued, “I was particularly touched by the lyrics and melody, which captured the feelings of heartache and missing someone. I tried to express the emotions I felt with a slightly more mature vibe, so I think it’d be good to focus [on that] when you listen to the song.”

“I always feel a particularly greater sense of responsibility when it comes to OSTs, because my voice is going to be a part of important scenes in the drama,” added Miyeon. “After this song was released, my members gave me feedback and my fans also really liked it, so I was happy.” I think ‘Someday’ will remain a song that I always feel proud of.”

She went on, “Please show lots of love for both the drama ‘Moonshine’ and my OST song ‘Someday.'”

Finally, Miyeon concluded by touching on (G)I-DLE’s upcoming promotions for the year ahead. “I hope that you’ll also keep an eye on my promotions with (G)I-DLE,” she teased, adding, “We’ll show you lots of new and cool sides of ourselves this year.”
