Choi Daniel In Talks To Join Kim Sejeong In Remake Of “Sleepeeer Hit!”
“Today’s Webtoon” is a Korean remake of the popular 2016 Japanese series “Sleepeeer Hit!” The new drama will star Kim Sejeong as On Ma Eum, a former judo athlete who joins a webtoon editorial department as a new employee and struggles to mature into a true editor amidst South Korea’s competitive webtoon industry.
On April 8, Choi Daniel’s agency clarified reports that he was set to star in the drama, stating, “Choi Daniel has received a casting offer for the new SBS drama ‘Today’s Webtoon,’ and he is currently in the midst of reviewing the offer with a favorable outlook.”
Choi Daniel has been offered the leading role of Seok Ji Hyung, an unpredictable deputy editor with an unreadable poker face who becomes a dependable mentor for On Ma Eum. Although he can be brutally honest, Seok Ji Hyung is also a supportive editor who takes good care of his younger colleagues and the webtoon writers he works with.
Should Choi Daniel accept the role, “Today’s Webtoon” will mark his first drama in four years: the actor last graced the small screen in the 2018 series “The Ghost Detective.”
