Antenna To Take Legal Action Against Malicious Comments

Antenna has announced that they will be taking strong legal action against malicious comments.

On April 25, Antenna released an official statement announcing their upcoming legal plans. Read the statement below:

Hello. This is Antenna.

First off, we sincerely thank you for sending lots of love and support to Antenna’s artists.

We want to announce that we will be taking strong legal action against malicious posts and comments of slander, sexual harassment, false information, personal attacks, and defamation that are circulating the internet with Antenna’s agency artists as the subjects.

We’ve assessed these persistent malicious posts as a situation of concern that causes emotional distress to not only the artists, but also to their fans. Using the data we’ve gathered internally through self-monitoring, we are already preparing to take legal action against those writing these malicious posts. Additionally, we will be taking strong legal action against those who send messages containing profanity or abusive language to our artists.

For reference, in accordance with Article 7 (2) of the ‘Act on Promotion of Information and Communications Network Utilization and Information Protection,’ those who publicly spread false facts and defame others through information and communication networks with the goal of slandering others can be sentenced up to seven years, suspended up to 10 years, and fined up to 50 million won (approximately $39,630) as a serious crime. As a matter of fact, strong punishments such as prison sentences are continuously being made with regards to illegal activity like malicious slander and spread of false information.

Furthermore, we plan to keep taking all possible legal action without settlement regarding defamation of or additional damage to our agency artists that occur in the future. Reports and data provided by fans are a lot of help to our legal preparations and action. In the future too, we request your active reporting.

We will continue to do everything we can to protect the rights and interests of our agency artists. We ask for your warm and unchanging encouragement and support of Antenna’s agency artists.
