On May 1 at midnight KST, Girls’ Generation surprised fans by releasing an eye-catching teaser image on their official social media accounts—with no captions or tags.

While some fans wondered if the teaser was for Hyoyeon’s upcoming solo comeback, others quickly pointed out that Girls’ Generation usually tags the individual members when teasing solo releases.

With Girls’ Generation’s 15th anniversary coming up in August (and several members recently hinting at the possibility of a group comeback), many fans are hoping that the teaser is for Girls’ Generation’s long-awaited return as a group.
