With its premiere right around the corner, “Woori the Virgin” released a new preview of the first episode!

SBS’s latest drama is a remake of the hit American show “Jane the Virgin” (which was itself based on a Venezuelan telenovela). “Woori the Virgin” tells the story of a woman named Oh Woo Ri (Im Soo Hyang) who has been strictly maintaining her chastity before marriage but winds up pregnant after an accidental artificial insemination during a medical exam.

The trailer documents the shocking moment where Oh Woo Ri, accompanied by her mom Oh Eun Ran (Hong Eun Hee), hears the news of her pregnancy for the first time. It all begins with the doctor delivering the big news, followed by an apology given on her knees. She explains, “Since it was an accident, you can receive a surgical procedure immediately [to undo it]. Then, you can return to your normal life.”

While Oh Woo Ri is having difficulty taking the news in with a hand on her stomach and a blank look on her face, her mother is much quicker to react. Enraged at the fact that her daughter has been impregnated by a mistake on the hospital’s part, Oh Eun Ran throws herself at the doctor and wails.

As her mom puts on quite a scene with the doctor and nurses, Oh Woo Ri remains sitting in disbelief. But she is far from calm as the camera tilts and turns around 360 degrees to show how her world has been shaken up.

On their way home, Oh Woo Ri faces a couple intriguing signs that point toward how this is all a play of fate. While on the bus, a baby sitting in front of Oh Woo Ri throws her a magical wink. On the walk back home, a grandma on a billboard suddenly comes to life, giving Oh Woo Ri a surprised expression. The trailer ends with Oh Woo Ri being unable to move away from the billboard.
