Yoon Chan Young And Yoon Hyun Soo Reveal Their Innermost Struggles In New Poster For "Hope Or Dope 2"
“Hope or Dope 2” has revealed another poster ahead of its premiere!
The second season of teenage noir drama “Hope or Dope” continues the story of Kyung Da Jung, an 18-year-old girl who was used by her parents in order to transport drugs. After fleeing to the countryside, she meets Gong Yoon Tak, a rural country bumpkin who is overwhelmed with his life, and together with their friends, they discover a marijuana field.
A previously released highlight reel showcased the rift between Gong Yoon Tak (Yoon Chan Young) and Gong Yoon Jae (Yoon Hyun Soo). Gong Yoon Jae is also assumed to be a murder suspect, which heightens the sense of foreboding between the two brothers. The new poster puts the spotlight on the peculiar emotions of these two characters.
The staggered placement of the two boys provides clear symbolism for their struggle, with Gong Yoon Tak looking up to the sky with longing while Gong Yoon Jae tilts his head with a resigned gaze.
The text near Gong Yoon Tak’s head reads, “I want to live my own life, too.” Consumed with guilt after his mother’s death, Gong Yoon Tak put aside his own life and grew obsessed with his family’s safety. He only begins to change after meeting Kyung Da Jung (Won Ji An), and it remains to be seen how he will deal with the conflict between his personal life and his family.
Meanwhile, the text near Gong Yoon Jae reveals his true desire as it reads, “Just give up on me.” Pinpointed as a problem child, he must have endured a great amount of loneliness to the point of wanting others to stop trying to help him.
The two brothers must overcome their own difficulties together and come to accept their family as a place where they can rest rather than a homework problem they have to solve.
seezn’s original drama “Hope or Dope 2” will air all its episodes on May 31 at 6 p.m. KST. Check out a teaser here!
