He’s similar to me because no matter how hard things get, he doesn’t show it and tries to carry everything on his own, and he also doesn’t show his emotions very well.”
To describe Gong Soo Kwang in three keywords, Na In Woo chose “Gong Soo Kwang,” Go Myung Sung,” and “Soo Kwang + Myung Sung.” In the drama, Gong Soo Kwang gets a second name “Go Myung Sung” due to an incident, and Na In Woo expressed his character as one that cannot be explained by any other words. Fans are already eager too learn about Gong Soo Kwang’s backstory and how he ended up with two names.
Na In Woo talked about the efforts he made to portray Gong Soo Kwang, saying, “Since he is a person who constantly strives for his goal, I tried to express his patience and perseverance as he goes through a difficult process.”
He continued, “I tried to show [the viewers] how Gong Soo Kwang forgets his past and finds what he truly loves through his meeting and parting with Seul Bi.” He explained that he also wanted to depict how Gong Soo Kwang, who used the growing pains of his past when he had no courage to break free from his weakness, guilt, and fear, changed into a stronger person through Seul Bi who helped him find his true self.
