Highlight's Son Dongwoon Confirmed To Join "Sleepeeer Hit!" Remake Starring Kim Sejeong And Nam Yoon Su

Highlight’s Son Dongwoon, Kim Sejeong, and Nam Yoon Su will be starring in SBS’s upcoming Friday-Saturday drama “Today’s Webtoon” (literal title) together!

On June 7, Son Dongwoon’s agency Around Us Entertainment stated, “Son Dongwoon will take on the role of Oh Yoon in the SBS drama ‘Today’s Webtoon,’ which will premiere on July 29.”

“Today’s Webtoon” is a Korean remake of the popular 2016 Japanese drama “Sleepeeer Hit!” The drama will tell the story of On Ma Eum, a former judo athlete who joins the webtoon editorial department as a new employee and struggles to mature into a true webtoon editor amidst South Korea’s competitive webtoon industry.

Kim Sejeong will star as Oh Ma Eum, who gives up on her Olympic dreams after suffering an injury. However, the optimist then sets her sights on webtoons, which has been her source of comfort since she was an athlete.

Nam Yoon Su plays Goo Joon Young, a new employee in the webtoon editorial department who boasts an impressive IQ of 150 and aims to be the best of the best. After living with ease all his life, Goo Joon Young faces hardship for the first time when he’s unable to adjust to his new placement in the new webtoon department after working at a famous IT company. Once he starts reflecting on himself, Goo Joon Young grows to be more like On Ma Eum by sincerely putting his heart and soul into everything he does.

Son Dongwoon’s character Oh Yoon is a handsome webtoon writer who gained popularity with his series that features everyday comedy in life and earned fame as a celebrity through television appearances. He will make the story more vibrant as he gets involved with the workers of Neon Webtoon’s editorial department for his new project.

Son Dongwoon recently released his second mini album titled “Happy Birthday” along with the music video for the title track “Today’s Weather.” Fans are eager to see him on the small screen as an actor, and it will be interesting to see his chemistry with his co-stars.

“Today’s Webtoon” will start airing on July 29 following the conclusion of “Why Her?“!
