Idol Audition Show "My Teen Girl" To Return With Male Version Next Year
Get ready for a male version of CLASS:y!
On June 8, “My Teen Girl” production company Funky Studio officially announced that the idol audition show would be returning with a male version early next year.
“PD [producing director] Han Dong Chul has begun preparing to produce a male version for Season 2,” stated the agency. “It is currently scheduled to air in February or March of next year. Just like Season 1, it will be an audition for the birth of a talented K-pop group.”
The first season of “My Teen Girl,” which wrapped up in February of this year, featured aspiring idols battling for the chance to debut in a brand-new girl group. The program, which was helmed by “Produce 101,” “Show Me the Money,” and “Unpretty Rapstar” PD Han Dong Chul, featured Girls’ Generation‘s Yuri, (G)I-DLE‘s Jeon Soyeon, Fin.K.L’s Ock Joo Hyun, and Aiki of “Street Woman Fighter” as celebrity mentors.
As Season 1 gave rise to the new girl group CLASS:y, who made their debut last month with “SHUT DOWN,” industry watchers are curious to see what kind of boy group will be formed through Season 2 next year.
Meanwhile, CLASS:y is currently gearing up to make their official Japanese debut on June 22.
