With less than a month until its premiere, upcoming disaster film “Emergency Declaration” has shared new character posters!

Directed by Han Jae Rim, “Emergency Declaration” follows the unprecedented calamities that arise when terrorist threats are made against an impending flight. The disaster film stars Song Kang Ho, Jeon Do YeonLee Byung HunKim Nam GilIm Siwan, Kim So Jin, and Park Hae Joon.

On July 4, the disaster film unveiled seven new character posters that depict each individual’s response to the unprecedented disaster. Half the characters are on land and in charge of stopping the evolving crisis while the other half are experiencing the in-air disaster first-hand.

Song Kang Ho plays In Ho, a veteran detective who investigates the threats and does his best to stop the disaster from getting worse, even while getting soaked in rain in a heated fight. His poster reads, “Hold out for just a bit because we’re dealing with it here.” Lee Byung Hun stars as Jae Hyuk, a concerned father who holds his daughter tight as he busily looks around the plane to assess the situation. He asks in the caption, “What’s going on right now?”

Jeon Do Yeon portrays Sook Hee, a general working at the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, and Transportation who showcases confidence, charisma, and love for humanity as she tries to save the flight passengers. She states, “No matter what, we have to make them land.” Kim Nam Gil plays Hyun Soo, the vice-caption and first officer of duty for the airplane. Due to the immense responsibility he feels to safely land the plane and protect those on board, Hyun Soo is seen with a focused gaze. His poster reads, “I hope you will open the airstrip.”

Im Siwan’s poster shows him as the mysterious plane passenger Jin Seok, who has a calm expression that contrasts all the chaos around him. Jin Seok asks in the caption, “Which plane here has a lot of passengers?” Kim So Jin plays flight attendant Hee Jin, who tries to remain calm and prioritize the passengers over herself. Her poster reads, “We’ll keep observing.” Park Hae Joon portrays Tae Soo, the head of the government’s crisis management center. He appears deep in thought as he attempts to make the best and most rational decisions, even in such an unpredictable scenario. He asks in his poster caption, “Could you tell me the current situation?”

“Emergency Declaration” originally premiered at the 74th Cannes Film Festival in July 2021 where it was selected for the Out of Competition section. The film is scheduled for global release on August 3 and you can watch the trailer here!
