Watch: Kim Sejeong Lets Go Of Her Gold Medal Dreams And Gets Optimistic New Start As An Editor In "Today's Webtoon"

SBS’s “Today’s Webtoon” has shared an optimistic new teaser!

A Korean remake of the popular 2016 Japanese series “Sleepeeer Hit!”, “Today’s Webtoon” is a new drama set against the backdrop of South Korea’s competitive webtoon industry. Kim Sejeong will star as On Ma Eum, a former judo athlete who joins a webtoon editorial department as a new employee and struggles to mature into a true editor.

The new teaser draws out the unexpected growth experienced by Oh Ma Eum as she transitions from a judo athlete to a webtoon editor. The clip starts with a determined On Ma Eum as she shows off her physical strength while fighting various people. However, she comments in the voiceover, “The future is always unpredictable.”

After living her entire life as a judo athlete dreaming of a gold medal, On Ma Eum suddenly finds herself in the workplace. Editor-in-chief Jang Man Chul (Park Ho San) comments, “If she comes to our team, don’t you think she’d work really well?” On Ma Eum shows the same amount of optimism as she calls out, “I will not inconvenience the team and work with all my heart.” She continues to fluster her senior co-workers as she drinks without hesitation and enthusiastically refuses to go home.

Now that avid webtoon reader On Ma Eum has incorporated her hobby into her career, she must work extra hard to use that positive energy and mature into a true editor. Through this journey, she meets her mentor Seok Ji Hyung (Choi Daniel) as well as her fellow new employee Goo Joon Young (Nam Yoon Su).

Despite having let go of her previous dreams as a judo athlete, On Ma Eum is eventually able to realign her life path as she comments, “I like webtoons, just as much as judo.”
