LABOUM's Agency Responds To Reports Of Group's Disbandment

LABOUM’s agency has officially addressed reports that the group is disbanding.

Last year, LABOUM signed with a new agency, Interpark Music Plus, following the expiration of their contracts with their previous agency. As leader Yujeong left the group following the expiration of her contract with their former agency, LABOUM joined Interpark Music Plus as a four-member group consisting of Soyeon, Jinyea (formerly known as ZN), Haein, and Solbin.

Earlier this week, Korean news outlet StarNews reported that LABOUM would be disbanding in August, just one year after they signed with Interpark Music Plus.

However, the agency has since clarified that while they are discussing the possibility of LABOUM’s disbandment, nothing has yet been decided.

“We saw the article about [LABOUM’s] disbandment, but absolutely nothing has been decided yet,” a representative of Interpark Music Plus told Sports Hankook. “When the matter has been resolved, we will make an announcement.”

Interpark Music Plus similarly told No Cut News, “We are currently discussing [the possibility of disbandment]. Nothing has yet been decided.”

LABOUM first debuted as a six-member group in 2014. Last year, the group reentered the spotlight when their 2016 song “Journey to the Atlantis” enjoyed a sudden resurgence in popularity five years after its release.

Stay tuned for further updates regarding LABOUM’s future plans.
