Shinhwa's Minwoo, Kim Dong Wan, And Jun Jin Announce First Unit Group WDJ

Shinhwa will be releasing their first unit group in 24 years!

On August 17 at 12 p.m. KST, Liveworks Company uploaded a teaser video to their official YouTube channel announcing the new unit group consisting of members Minwoo, Kim Dong Wan, and Jun Jin.

The epic teaser starts counting up from 1998 to 2022, followed by the text, “Shinhwa The First Unit.” The names of the members pop up with clips of performances within the letters “W,” “D,” and “J,” eventually combining to make the group’s unit name Shinhwa WDJ. The teaser ends by previewing that the unit will arrive this winter.

A representative of the agency shared, “A unit group consisting of Lee Minwoo, Kim Dong Wan, and Jun Jin is confirmed to begin [music] promotional activities this winter. Since these will be Shinhwa’s first unit activities, they are working hard to prepare in order to meet fans with new charms and high quality music, so please show lots of anticipation.”

Shinhwa debuted in 1998 with “Resolver,” and they have released countless hit songs since then including “T.O.P,” “Only One,” “Hey, Come on!” “Perfect Man,” “Your Wedding,” “Brand New” and more.

As Shinhwa’s vocalist in charge of producing, Minwoo promoted as a group member and soloist under the stage name “M.” Kim Dong Wan has also received much love in various fields including music, acting, variety shows, and musicals, while Jun Jin showcased exceptional performances on stage as well as his hilarious side on numerous variety shows.
