Girls' Generation's Sunny Diagnosed With COVID-19

Girls’ Generation’s Sunny has tested positive for COVID-19.

On August 24, SM Entertainment made an announcement through their official fan community KWANGYA CLUB, stating that Sunny conducted a test using a self-testing kit as she was feeling unwell the day before, and the test showed a positive result. She immediately proceeded with a rapid antigen test on the morning of August 24 and was confirmed to be positive for COVID-19.

Sunny stopped all her scheduled activities and went straight into self-isolation while receiving treatment at home in accordance with the guidelines of the quarantine authorities. As a result, she was not able to attend her scheduled activity at Jamsil Stadium where a baseball game between KT Wiz and Doosan Bears was held that same afternoon.

SM Entertainment remarked, “We will continue to strictly abide by the quarantine guidelines and prioritize the artist’s health and safety so that she can focus on her treatment and recovery.”

Girls’ Generation made a comeback after five years with their seventh full-length album “FOREVER 1.”
