The producers of Kakao TV’s hit reality dating show “Change Days” has urged viewers to refrain from sending the cast malicious messages or leaving defamatory comments.

“Change Days” is a reality program starring actual couples on the verge of breaking up. The currently airing second season of the show features four real-life couples spending two weeks together in a villa on Jeju Island, where they swap partners to go on dates and ultimately decide whether to mend their current relationships or pursue new romances with other people.

On August 25, the “Change Days” production team posted an official statement asking viewers to refrain from malicious messages and comments.

Their full statement is as follows:

Hello, this is the “Change Days” production team.

We sincerely thank our viewers for all of the interest, support, and varied opinions you have been sending “Change Days,” which is now in its second season.

However, excessively defamatory DMs [direct messages] and comments that defame an individual cast member’s character can inflict deep emotional wounds on the cast members, who are real-life couples that mustered the courage [to appear on the show] after sincere debate about dating and breaking up. Therefore, we entreat you to please refrain from [writing such messages or comments].

If such a situation becomes unavoidable, the production team plans to discuss the possibility of taking measures to protect the cast members.

Our production team will continue to do our utmost to present you with even more sincere content in the future as well. Please give [our content] lots of interest.

Thank you.
