BLACKPINK Makes History On UK's Official Singles Chart With

BLACKPINK has just made K-pop history in the United Kingdom!

On September 2 local time, the United Kingdom’s Official Charts (typically regarded as the U.K. equivalent to Billboard’s U.S. charts) announced that BLACKPINK’s pre-release single “Pink Venom” had successfully remained in the top 40 of the Official Singles Chart for the second consecutive week.

After debuting at No. 22 on the chart last week, “Pink Venom” stayed strong at No. 37 for the week of September 2 to 8.

“Pink Venom” is now the first K-pop girl group song without a featured artist ever to spend two weeks in the top 40 of the Official Singles Chart. While BLACKPINK previously achieved the feat with “Kiss and Make Up” (their 2018 collab with Dua Lipa) and “Sour Candy” (their 2020 collab with Lady Gaga), “Pink Venom” is the first song solely by a female K-pop artist to chart in the top 40 for two weeks.

“Pink Venom” is also BLACKPINK’s eighth song to enter the Official Singles Chart at all, following “DDU-DU DDU-DU,” “Kiss and Make Up,” “Kill This Love,” “Sour Candy,” “How You Like That,” “Ice Cream,” and “Lovesick Girls.”

Congratulations to BLACKPINK!
