Watch: Vocalists From 2 Different Boy Groups Team Up For Special Duet Episode Of

On the latest episode of “The King of Mask Singer,” the identities of the “Gura’s Grace” duo were finally revealed!

The September 11 episode of the MBC singing competition marked the second installment of the show’s duet special for the Chuseok (Korean Thanksgiving) holiday. While the program usually features masked contestants singing alone as they compete for the chance to challenge the reigning champion, the annual duet special has contestants partner up to compete against one another in pairs.

Spoilers

Last week, the masked duo named “Gura’s Grace” beat the “Dragon vs. Tiger” duo (later revealed to be Kwon In Ha and Shim Hyung Rae) in the first round of competition.

When the two contestants showed off their dancing skills on stage, Kim Gura speculated that one of them was UP10TION’s Kogyeol and the other was a member of Golden Child. When everyone turned to Golden Child’s Jibeom, who was appearing on the show as a panelist, for his input, Jibeom replied that he thought it might be Seungmin, whom he hadn’t seen around much lately.

In the latest episode of the show, “Gura’s Grace” performed a duet version of DAYBREAK’s “Flower Road” after advancing to the second round.

The duo also teamed up for a dance cover of EXO‘s “Growl,” with Kim Gura requesting that they make their performance as fun and entertaining as possible.

After seeing them dance, Jibeom declared that he now felt fairly certain that one of the members was his bandmate Seungmin.

Although the duo charmed the audience with their vocals, they ultimately lost the round to “Our Friendship with a Margin of One Vote,” who performed an emotional cover of Brown Eyed Soul’s “Did We Really Love.”

When it came time to take off their masks, it turned out that “Gura’s Grace” was, in fact, Seungmin and Kogyeol after all.

Although they lost the second round, the two idols may have gained a new friendship: at the end of the episode, Seungmin asked Kogyeol if he could start calling him “hyung” (a Korean term of address for an older brother or male friend).

Kogyeol readily agreed, asking Seungmin to speak informally to him from now on, and the duo shared a heartwarming hug that made the panelists smile.

At another point in the show, Jibeom and Michael Lee took the stage for a special encore performance of Michael Jackson’s “Black or White,” which they previously sang together on the program two years ago as part of a Round 1 battle.
