BLACKPINK has made another impressive achievement!

On September 16 at 1 p.m. KST, the girl group dropped their second studio album “BORN PINK” along with the music video for the title track “Shut Down.” Immediately upon its release, both the album and title track dominated iTunes charts in numerous countries across the globe.

To add to those achievements, “Shut Down” has now hit No. 1 on Spotify’s Global Top Songs chart. This is their second song to top this chart following “Pink Venom” last month. As a result, BLACKPINK is the first K-pop artist to have two songs that dominated this chart.

Furthermore, “Shut Down” was streamed more than 6.6 million times on the first day of its release. The country that accounted for the largest portion was the United States, the world’s larges pop market, with a total of 1,037,386 streams. The song was also majorly popular in countries like the United Kingdom, Canada, Germany, Vietnam, Mexico, Thailand, and Brazil, proving the group’s global influence.

Congratulations to BLACKPINK on their historic achievements!
