The production company of tvN’s “Little Woman” has released a statement after the program stopped airing on Netflix Vietnam.

According to various news outlets in Vietnam, “Little Women” stopped broadcasting via Netflix Vietnam on October 6. Previously, Vietnam’s Authority of Broadcasting and Electronic Information (ABEI) requested that “Little Women” stop airing, stating that the scenes of the Vietnam War in episodes 3 and 8 were distorted to be different from the truth. The scenes involved general Won Ki Sun performing “distinguished military services” in the Vietnam War and bringing back the blue ghost orchid as well as another veteran stating that each Korean solider killed 20 Vietnamese soldiers.

On October 7, a representative of Studio Dragon shared, “We are addressing the concerns regarding a portion of the [story] set-up covered in ‘Little Women.’ We will place more caution in societal and cultural sensitivity issues in future content production.”

“Little Women” is about three sisters with a close bond who grew up in poverty. When all three of them become entangled with one of the nation’s wealthiest families, they are catapulted into a new world of money and power that is unlike anything they’ve known before.
