Bang Si Hyuk Makes Generous Donation For Korea's Youth
HYBE chairman Bang Si Hyuk has made a generous donation to the Community Chest of Korea.
On October 13, Bang Si Hyuk donated 5 billion won (approximately $3.5 million) to the Community Chest of Korea, a nonprofit organization that is the only government-sanctioned charity in Korea.
With his generous donation, Bang Si Hyuk became the 13th member of the organization’s Korea Donor Advised Fund. The group is for individuals who have donated at least 1 billion won (approximately $700,000), and the donors have full control over where they would like to allocate the money and what efforts they would like to see come from their donation.
Bang Si Hyuk has made his donation with the goal of helping the youth of Korea, with plans for the money to be used to help teenagers not in school and those in youth care facilities to receive educational opportunities without discrimination, so that they may grow in a healthy environment.
The HYBE chairman stated, “As someone who is both a creator of music and a businessman, and also as someone who has received help and support in many different areas, I have learned that the help a person receives from society is a huge source of nourishment in their development.” He explained that it was his desire to give back to society that led him to make his donation.
“During the process [of making this donation], I began to think about what kind of help this generation of youth would need in order to grow into people that can lead our society,” he said. “I made this donation in the hopes that youth who desperately need help will be able to dream with confidence and go forward looking towards the future.”
