MLD's New Girl Group Lapillus Announces Official Fan Club Name

Lapillus has officially named their fandom!

On October 21, Lapillus’s agency MLD Entertainment announced that the group’s official fandom name would be “Lapis,” which means “jewel and jewel meet to shine more beautifully.”

Following the announcement, the members of Lapillus took to their social media to personally update fans on their new name! Haeun wrote, “Hey Lapis~ Our fandom name!! Has become Lapis!! Wow amazing!! Our Lapis, let’s have a good time!!”

Shana asked fans what they thought about the name before adding, “I think it’s cute and I really like it!! I love you Lapis.”

Yue excitedly tweeted, “Our lovely fans have finally been named!!!!” She went on to explain the meaning of “Lapis” and continued, “Just like how Lapis and Lapillus meet together we can shine brighter. Lapis I love you~~~”

In Seowon’s tweet, she wrote, “Everyone!! We’ve decided on Lapis for our fandom name!! What do you think?” She then jokingly addressed fans’ name suggestions, saying, “It’s not pencil…” Seowon also added, “The meaning is really pretty so let’s shine brighter together in the future! Lapis I love youuu.”

Lapillus is MLD Entertainment’s rookie girl group who made their debut this past June with “HIT YA!” They made their first-ever comeback in September with their first mini album “GIRL’s ROUND Part. 1” and title track “GRATATA.” The six-member girl group consists of “Girls Planet 999” finalist Nonaka Shana, Filipina-Argentinian actress Chanty (Chantal Videla), Haeun, Seowon, Yue, and Bessie.
