"Boys Planet," The Male Version Of "Girls Planet 999," To Premiere In February 2023

The male version of “Girls Planet 999” is just a few months away!

On November 28, Mnet officially announced that “Boys Planet”—the male version of the 2021 audition show that gave rise to the girl group Kep1er—will premiere in February 2023.

Mnet will also unveil the first teaser for “Boys Planet” during its upcoming 2022 MAMA Awards, which will be held over two nights on November 29 and 30 at Osaka’s Kyocera Dome in Japan.

Unlike “Girls Planet 999,” which was specifically limited to Korean, Japanese, and Chinese contestants, “Boys Planet” opened its global auditions to applicants from all over the world this past August. After three rounds of auditions, the producers whittled down the applicants to 98 contestants.

According to Mnet, the upcoming season will see a number of changes to the program’s format, including an increase in the level of viewers’ participation and involvement in the show.
