Based on the web novel of the same name, “The Forbidden Marriage” is a new MBC drama starring Kim Young Dae as King Yi Heon, who falls deep into despair after the death of his wife and ends up prohibiting marriage in his kingdom. Seven years after the loss of his wife (played by IZ*ONE‘s Kim Min Ju), who was then the crown princess, he comes across a con artist named So Rang (Park Ju Hyun) who claims that she can be possessed by the late princess’s spirit.

On the first episode of “The Forbidden Marriage,” So Rang unexpectedly found herself being appointed a fake court lady at the palace after pretending that the late princess’s spirit could enter her body.

In newly released stills from the drama’s upcoming second episode, So Rang’s eventful palace life begins in earnest. The plucky heroine shocks everyone at the palace with her bold, fearless attitude—and she isn’t afraid to take a seat right next to the king and partake of his royal meal when she gets hungry.

Later, after having a few too many drinks, So Rang takes a spill outside, and she winds up needing Lee Shin Won (Kim Woo Seok) to carry her on his back.
