“The Glory” will tell the story of a former victim of brutal school violence who exacts revenge on her bullies after becoming the elementary school homeroom teacher of her bully’s kid. The drama will be penned by Kim Eun Sook, the writer of hit dramas like “Goblin,” “Descendants of the Sun,” “Heirs,” and “Secret Garden,” and it will be helmed by director Ahn Gil Ho of “Happiness,” “Forest of Secrets” (“The Stranger”), “Memories of the Alhambra,” and “Record of Youth.”
Song Hye Kyo, who previously worked together with Kim Eun Sook on “Descendants of the Sun,” will be starring as the vengeful protagonist Moon Dong Eun, while Lee Do Hyun will be playing male lead Joo Yeo Jeong.
The newly released stills preview Moon Dong Eun gearing up for her long-awaited revenge. On her side as supporters are Joo Yeo Jeong and Kang Hyeon Nam (Yeom Hye Ran). Furthermore, Jung Ji So plays the young Moon Dong Eun while Shin Ye Eun plays the young and guilt-free Park Yeon Jin.
Regarding her character, Song Hye Kyo shared, “Since she is a figure who needs a lot of comfort, I [placed emphasis on] not portraying her in a pitiful way,” adding that she payed close attention to the details in her tone and speed while recording the narration for the drama.
Lee Do Hyun introduced his character by saying, “He may seem like a lighthearted and pure person, but he is a figure with dual nature.” Director Ahn Gil Ho also complimented Lee Do Hyun on his portrayal of Yeo Jeong and his transformation as the narrative becomes more revealed.
Lim Ji Yeon stated her resolve by sharing, “[I thought] to create a villain only Lim Ji Yeon could portray.” Scriptwriter Kim Eun Sook shared, “There will be no reason or glorification for Yeon Jin’s misdeeds and malice. That is the reason for the existence of this series.” Lim Ji Yeon also agreed to Kim Eun Sook’s statement.
