AOA’s Seolhyun And Shin Eun Soo Are Devastated By A Murder In “Summer Strike”

Angok will be swept up in tragedy on the next episode of ENA’s “Summer Strike.”

Based on the popular webtoon of the same name, “Summer Strike” is a romance drama about people who leave behind their busy lives in the city in order to move to a small town and do nothing. ZE:A’s Im Siwan stars as Ahn Dae Bum, a shy math genius who is now living a quiet life as a village librarian, while AOA’s Seolhyun plays Lee Yeo Reum, a burned-out young professional who quits her job and ventures to an unfamiliar village in order to find herself.

Spoilers

At the end of the previous episode of “Summer Strike,” Yeo Reum was startled to see Geun Ho (Kim Yo Han) frantically running out of the billiard hall. Meanwhile, Bom (Shin Eun Soo) waited alone for her grandmother Myung Sook (Kim Hye Jung) to come home, making viewers nervous as they waited to find out what had happened.

In newly released stills from the drama’s upcoming episode, the village of Angok is turned upside down by yet another billiard hall murder. Yeo Reum does her best to comfort Bom, but she herself is also devastated by Myung Sook’s death, and she is unable to fight back her tears or hide the emptiness of her gaze at the police station.

Meanwhile, Dae Bum finds himself spiraling after briefly returning to Seoul. Seeming to have gone back in time to his “physics genius” days, Dae Bum stays up for several nights solving problems without sleeping.

Considering the fact that he previously said he never wanted to lose his sanity to numbers again, it remains to be seen why he has suddenly become so obsessed with them again.

The producers of “Summer Strike” commented, “Due to Myung Sook’s sudden death, Yeo Reum, Bom, and the other residents of Angok will be plunged into grief. Dae Bum will also fall into a black hole of his own and do nothing but solving problems.”

They went on to add, “Viewers won’t be able to tear their eyes away from Kim Seolhyun, Im Siwan, and Shin Eun Soo’s emotional acting as each of their characters goes through a tough time.”

The next episode of “Summer Strike” airs on December 20 at 9:20 p.m. KST.
