Watch: Kim Min Kyu Goes From Being A High Priest To An Underrated Idol In “The Heavenly Idol” Teaser
New drama “The Heavenly Idol” has shared an amusing first teaser!
Adapted from a popular webtoon and web novel, “The Heavenly Idol” tells the story of High Priest Rembrary who one day suddenly finds himself in the body of unknown idol Woo Yeon Woo, a member of the group Wild Animal. Kim Min Kyu will star as High Priest Rembrary, while Go Bo Gyeol will play the role of Wild Animal’s manager and Woo Yeon Woo’s No. 1 fan Kim Dal.
The new teaser starts with Rembrary’s narration, “My name is Rembrary. A Pontifex who serves God Redlin,” proclaiming that he’s a respected and powerful priest who looks after the people.
However, in the next scene, Pontifex Rembrary opens his eyes only to find himself suddenly on stage in the middle of a live performance with the unpopular idol group Wild Animal. Embarrassed and clueless as to what to do, the dignified priest looks lost as he awkwardly covers up his midriff with his hands, feeling unfamiliar wearing a crop top. The flustered Rembrary then proceeds to turn heads when he shouts, “I don’t know how to dance!” creating major chaos on the scene.
Soon after, the struggles get real when he comically attempts to learn a dance routine. When he gets home, he faces another horrendous fact: he’s living with four other men in a small and packed dormitory. At the end of his long and confusing day, Rembrary slowly closes his eyes as he finally comes to terms with his new reality, “From now on, I am the unpopular idol Woo Yeon Woo.”
