SEVENTEEN Launches New UNESCO Donation Campaign To Support Education Of Underprivileged Youth

SEVENTEEN has teamed up with the Korean National Commission for UNESCO for a meaningful cause!

On January 26, SEVENTEEN’s agency Pledis Entertainment shared that the group had kicked off a new #GoingTogether donation event for underprivileged students in regions across Africa and Asia. For this event, SEVENTEEN has launched a special font featuring “Bongbong,” a 6-year-old character based on the group’s light stick, to symbolize “the importance of literacy and the joy of learning.”

In celebration of the International Day of Education on January 24, this font will be gifted to donors who donate over 1,700 won (approximately $1.40) starting February 28. All proceeds from font sales will be donated to the Global Village Education Sharing Project in support of the education of underprivileged children and youth in various African and Asian regions.

Last August, SEVENTEEN signed a business agreement with the Korean National Commission for UNESCO. This upcoming donation event is part of UNESCO’s global #GoingTogether campaign which aims to spread word about the importance of education.
