Watch: Girl Group Center Charms With Cover Of IU's "Friday" On "The King Of Mask Singer"

On the latest episode of “The King of Mask Singer,” the masked singer “Silver Rabbit” impressed the audience with her beautiful vocals!

During the February 5 broadcast of the MBC singing competition, eight new contestants contestants stepped up to challenge the reigning champion.

In the second match-up of Round 1, “Bead Ice Cream” and “Crystal Ball” faced off with a duet version of IU‘s beloved hit “Friday.”

After their performance, the celebrity panel expressed their admiration for both women’s voices, with many panelists speculating that Bead Ice Cream was an idol.

Lovelyz‘s Kei remarked, “Bead Ice Cream has such a pretty vocal tone that I think she must be a member of a girl group with a pure and innocent image.”

Although both contestants charmed the crowd with their singing, it was ultimately Crystal Ball that won the round.

Bead Ice Cream then performed a cover of Basis’s “Introduce Me a Good Person,” which recently enjoyed a resurgence in popularity due to Red Velvet‘s Joy‘s hit remake for the soundtrack of tvN’s drama “Hospital Playlist.”

Halfway through the song, Bead Ice Cream took her mask to reveal her identity—and she turned out to be none other than Cherry Bullet’s center Jiwon.

Jiwon went on to share that she had been hoping to earn the praise of Kei in particular, explaining, “Because Kei is so famous for her beautiful vocal tone, I often looked up her performances. When I heard that she would be appearing on [this episode], I was hoping to be praised by her.”

Yoon Sang then piped up to reveal that throughout Jiwon’s performance, even before she took off her mask, Kei couldn’t stop talking about how pretty she was. Kei added that she hoped to become friends with Jiwon and maybe even sing together with her in the future.

Finally, when asked about her goals, Jiwon replied, “I want to become an entertainer who’s good at lots of different things, from dancing and singing to acting. And I also want to meet my fans as quickly as possible with a good song.”

After the episode aired, Cherry Bullet’s official Twitter account also posted two photos of Jiwon backstage with her mask, asking fans, “How did you like Jiwon’s performance, which was as sweet and refreshing as bead ice cream?”
